About LA BALSITA
La Balsita is a 2009 Lazzara motor yacht set up to pamper up to ten guests in five luxuriously appointed staterooms. She is equipped with an enclosed sky lounge.
In addition to being stabilized for your comfort, La Balsita’s innovative hull design results in a draft of only 4’10” allowing access anchorages other yachts can’t get to, getting you closer to scenic beaches and destinations.
This efficiency wasn’t achieved at the expense of luxury. La Balsita is luxuriously appointed with the finest marbles, granites, and hardwoods throughout her interior.
Take a Tour
The moment you step aboard, walk through her spacious covered aft deck, and step into her main saloon you will notice how roomy and bright the interior is thanks to panoramic windows. The main salon welcomes you with its plush sofas and an entertainment center with all the bells and whistles.
Up a short flight of stairs from the salon, you will reach the sky lounge, a luxuriously decorated space with the pilothouse forward and a second salon aft with spectacular panoramic views. The sky lounge opens to the top deck, through two wide sliding doors, offering more seating and a table shaded by an awning.
The aft deck and swim platform are where you spend most of your time during the day and La Balsita will not disappoint you, offering a large shaded aft deck, with wet bar, fridge, and ice maker. About the Exuma Cays
We are often asked why we recommend the Exuma Cays as a charter destination instead of better-known areas like the eastern Caribbean, BVIs, or the Florida Keys. The Exuma Cays are a string of 365 small islands stretching for about 130 miles in the heart of the Bahamas, bordered on the west side by the shallow Exuma Bank and on the east side by the deep Atlantic waters of the Exuma Sound. Despite being fairly shallow, the light blue-green emerald waters of the Exuma Bank are navigable and offer sheltered cruising from the prevailing winds and seas. There are an estimated 5000 beaches in the Exumas.
Six reasons to charter in the Exumas
Easy flights: Only an hour from Miami, both Nassau and Georgetown have many daily non-stop flights to numerous US airports.
Sheltered waters: Unlike the eastern Caribbean with open Atlantic waters between islands, the Exumas Cays are accessible from the sheltered and calm bank side.
No crowds: We’ve all seen pictures of anchorages in the BVIs, Grenadines, St Barths, and other popular charter destinations with hundreds of boats and yachts anchored in close proximity. We don’t like it and neither do our guests. Instead, in the Exumas, you will find quiet and peaceful anchorages and beaches that you often won’t have to share with others. It’s like owning that beach or island for the day.
Short distances: With most Cays never more than a half-mile apart, you don’t have to spend a lot of time underway between anchorages. Less time under-way means more time to explore and play as well as lower fuel expenses.
Unique Things to do: Where else can you snorkel the wreck of a drug-running DC-3, visit wild endangered iguanas, feed swimming pigs, snorkel a partially submerged grotto used in numerous movies, hike to a cave in the middle of an island yet open to ocean water, snorkel on an underwater piano and mermaid sculpture, pet wild stingrays and nurse sharks, and much more. All in the span of a few days…
More shade of emerald blues than you can imagine. The shallow sandy bottom of the Exumas is unique and is the reason for the extraordinary colors of the waters. All it takes is one look at satellite pictures of our planet to realize there is nothing else like it anywhere.
