In 1936, the Army Corp of Engineers built SACAJAWEA for surveying the Alaskan ocean floor. Since Alaska was not yet a state in 1936, it was important for US interests to demonstrate activity in the region. The yacht’s original name was ROBERT GRAY.
In 2018, the 127′ SACAJAWEA’s new owners began to transform the vessel back into the beauty she is today. In fact, the yacht closely resembles the original 1936 boat. Her owners renamed the yacht SACAJAWEA to honor a strong and adventurous female from a time period before the boat’s construction and with a tie to the Northwest. Sacajawea was a guide for the Lewis and Clark expedition and represents strength and courage. Aboard Sacajawea you will have the opportunity to embark on excursions or wildlife tours, including bear and whale watching.

Although created to be a working ship, SACAJAWEA is very comfortable. Classic lines and original wood and metalwork make this yacht timelessly beautiful. The dining area seats 12 guests. The salon’s large windows and ports provide a light-filled lounging area. It has four sofas, a wet bar, and a mini-refrigerator.
Eight cabins accommodate up to 12 guests plus up to 6 crew.
Being on the Sacajawea is an experience like none other I have had. The ship is so beautiful in a way that modern things are not. She is built to last and that shows. When underway it is a magical experience. She is very powerful and steady and her engine really hums. I found the crew very kind and professional
