The Saronic islands are the closest Greek islands from Athens. The islands are Aegina, Agistri, Kythera, Antikythera, Poros, Hydra, Salamina and Spetses. Aegina, Poros, Hydra, and Spetses are busy tourist destinations during the summer months. The islands each have their own character from the elegance of Aegina and its pistachios to Hydra where there are no cars. These are popular sailing destinations and their harbors are very busy in the peak vacation season.
