Captain Name: Chad Harlan
Captain Nation: American
Chad started sailing at the age of 12 on the lakes of North Carolina and since then developed a passion for sailing through racing, owning sailboats and working professionally on sail and power yachts for the past 14 years. He has experience with many various different types of propulsion and even worked with single-screw sail with no bow thruster to twin-screw power catamarans and motor yachts from the Pacific NW to the southern Caribbean to Netherlands and Mediterranean. Chad prides himself on having a cohesive team who all share the mutual goal of providing a great experience for guests while on board. Achieving the goal through planning and open communication.
A couple of his greatest feelings on the sea were sailing across the Atlantic and having a steering failure and having the resources and know-how to get safely to port in the Cape Verde islands with the new equipment waiting on the dock as we sailed in. They made the repairs and had a great passage to Saint Martin and still arrived on time for the Christmas/New Year’s Caribbean season! In Chad’s free time, he enjoy’s surfing, scuba, modern home designs and motorcycles.
