Andrew Duran Head Captain
Crew Profile
Captain AndrewExplorer, mariner, and U.S. Army veteran, Captain Andrew Duran brings a spirit of adventure and a steady hand to every voyage. With a life split between the mountains of Colorado, the energy of New York City, and the waters of Miami Beach, Andrew has spent years charting his own course — whether navigating remote river systems, leading yacht operations, or guiding guests through unforgettable experiences at sea.
Andrew’s maritime career spans the U.S., Caribbean, and European canal systems. As a licensed USCG Master Captain, he has helmed vessels across everything from tranquil inland waterways to dynamic open-ocean passages. His time as a base manager with Dream Yacht Charter in the U.S. Virgin Islands gave him deep operational experience, managing fleets of catamarans and monohulls, overseeing technical maintenance, and ensuring smooth, guest-ready service in a demanding charter environment.
Prior to life on the water full-time, Andrew served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army with a light airborne infantry unit, where he developed the leadership, precision, and resilience that continue to shape his professional ethos. Later, he transitioned into the outdoor adventure industry, where he served as National Sales Director for a leading packraft manufacturer and explored rugged wildernesses through climbing, packrafting, paragliding, and skiing.
Andrew’s entrepreneurial spirit also led him to launch Geronimo Marine, a company specializing in drone services for marine surveyors, insurers, and ship management firms. Whether steering high-performance catamarans in Alaska, delivering luxury experiences for Barton & Gray Mariners Club, or offering his technical expertise behind the scenes, Andrew’s experience is vast, versatile, and anchored by a deep respect for nature, safety, and service.
Driven by curiosity and powered by purpose, Captain Andrew brings a grounded yet adventurous energy to every charter — one shaped by his years of service, his love of exploration, and his unwavering commitment to excellence on the water.
