The highly anticipated Chef’s competition at the 3rd TYBA Charter Yacht Show, held in Göcek-Muğla, Turkey, was a great success. The jury committee consisted of 360 Istanbul owner and chef Mike Norman, Carrefour SA tasting Chef Gökhan Sabuncu, and guest Chef Ann Casebourne. The Chef on motor-yacht SIROCCO won the Award for this year’s competition, which Carrefour SA sponsored.
The challenge was to create a four-course meal for a jury of three judges from a “mystery box” of ingredients supplied by Carrefour. Each chef had just two hours to prepare a fantastic meal. Although the competition was tough, after carefully tasting all of the creations, the judges awarded SIROCCO chef Zafer Asci the Best Chef among 14 boats.
The TYBA Show |Göcek, Turkey
The 3rd TYBA Yacht charter show took place May 6-10, 2022, at the prestigious D – Marin Göcek, a five-star marina and home port for superyachts, in Göcek, Turkey. Turkey is an exciting destination that has much to offer visiting charter guests. At the show, charter brokers and other industry professionals had the opportunity to inspect the yachts, meet the crews, and learn more about the destination.
The Motor-Yacht SIROCCO
M/Y SIROCCO, a custom-built 66-foot-long motor yacht, is full of luxury amenities to create a private floating resort for guests. This yacht is spacious, elegant, and also comfortable. A large kitchen area allows the award-winning chef to prepare various Turkish and world cuisine dishes. As the meal cooks, guests enjoy the sizeable stern deck, flybridge, and sun deck.
SIROCCO accommodates six guests in 3 cabins. The master cabin has a private bathroom, while the double bed and twin-bed cabin share a bathroom.
The yacht also has many customized entertainment options upon requests, such as belly dancing performances, a DJ for night entertainment on the flybridge, a personal masseuse, and more.
The Cruising Area
Turkey is a fantastic cruising area. Here the yachting season runs from May to early December. The Mediterranean is at its best in October and November with stable weather, sunshine, and a warm sea. It is home to many bays, all of which are beautiful and unique in their way. Turkey’s coastline offers a wide variety of attractions both inside and outside of the turquoise water.
