A passion for sailing has always fueled Captain Barry Duck. With a remarkable 18 years of professional yachting experience under his belt, including an impressive 16 years as a super yacht Captain, his expertise is both extensive and well-rounded.
He’s adept at ensuring guest satisfaction, overseeing onboard maintenance, and managing extensive yard periods and refits. Barry holds a slew of qualifications, including being an RYA Dinghy and keel Boat Instructor and possessing the STCW95 Sea Survival certificate, the DSC VHF radio Licence, and an MCA GMDSS Unrestricted certification.
His yachting journey has taken him to vessels such as the commercial yacht S/Y Cavallo, S/Y Darl Shadow, S/Y Icarus, S/Y Capercaillie, and many more. He’s even armed with a Higher National Diploma in Aquaculture and Fishery Science, UK. Beyond the sea, Barry enjoys playing rugby, fishing, exploring marine life, kite surfing, wakeboarding, and snorkeling.
Stewardess Maja Elzbieta Swakowska
Meet Maja, a Polish Stewardess/Cook with a strong sense of teamwork and a profound understanding of how individual responsibility contributes to the overall functioning and guest experience aboard a yacht.
She brings a wealth of experience in customer service, housekeeping, stock control, inventory management, bartending, and fine dining. Maja has honed her skills at establishments like the “Lemon Tree” Bar/Restaurant, where she curated seasonal menus, organized events, and supervised staff.
Chef Alexandre
Chef Alexandre is a seasoned culinary artist with an illustrious 30-year career, showcasing his talent aboard diverse vessels across the globe. While trained in the French culinary tradition, Alexandre is skilled at accommodating various tastes and dietary preferences.
His impressive list of certificates includes STCW 2021, French CAP and BEP cuisine, and qualifications from the Talence Cooking School in Gironde. Alexandre’s world-class cuisine has graced boats such as m/y Meridiana, s/y Asgard, s/y Valquest, m/y Tugatsu, m/y Sunliner X, and many more. His culinary mastery knows no bounds.
