Launched in early-2021, Acapella Motorsailor Review is about this magnificent new motor-Sailor, built in Croatia. She is the dreamboat of two brothers, Nikša and Tomislav Gluncic, who worked on her construction from start to finish.
Background
The Gluncic family has a 100-year history of sailing and shipbuilding. If you charter Acapella, Nikša will be your captain, and Tomislav your first officer. Their slick contemporary design and attention to detail ensure maximum comfort.
Measuring 49m (160ft 9in) in length, Acapella has two towering masts. The yacht looks magnificent when her billowing white sails catch the wind. She’s a proper sailing yacht but also has two powerful engines. Her cruising speed is 12 knots, and her maximum speed is 15 knots.

Coming Aboard
At the stern, a one-meter (3ft) wide gangway affords easy access to the boat. Of course, if you arrive with suitcases, the crew will carry those for you. Besides the captain and first officer, there are three stewardesses, a chef, a sous-chef, and two deckhands, making nine in total.
Firstly, we see the aft deck, the main open-air dining area. It’s semi-shaded and fitted with an elegant lozenge-shaped dining table seating twelve. After that, we enter the salon, with big windows and lots of natural light. It combines a lounge with modern boxy sofas in cream and grey, a bar, and a second dining table.
The Cabins
Down below, there are five cabins (accommodating 12 guests). In the forward, with its own staircase, is the VIP cabin. It spans the width of the boat, giving dual-aspect views. It has an enormous double bed decorated in white, grey-beige, and petrol blue.
Facilities include a huge wardrobe, two wall-mounted TVs, and a make-up table. The sleek en suite bathroom, with marble-look tiles and wood details, has a walk-in shower and elegant oval hand basins.
A second staircase leads down to the other four cabins from the salon. Materials, colors, and design details are similar to the VIP cabins. Two spacious master cabins with double beds also span the boat’s width.
And then there are two smaller cabins, each with a double plus a single. Sound insulation is excellent throughout, with 10-cm (4-inch) partition walls.
The Sundeck
Meanwhile, the glorious sundeck is where you’ll probably spend much of your time. Moreover, it’s partially shaded and has curvaceous lines, tracing a lounge area with built-in sofas and a big Jacuzzi. You get huge mattresses, sunbeds, and panoramic views over the deep blue Adriatic. At night, there’s a screen for open-air cinema beneath the stars.
The Voyage
“For first-time visitors to Croatia, my perfect cruise is Split-Dubrovnik or the other way around. The route depends on the guests”, says Nikša. “South Dalmatia offers a combination of historic places and trendy party venues. There are also secret coves and beautiful nature.”
While sailing, occasionally Nikša will drop anchor in a sheltered bay. You’ll swim in the translucent turquoise sea and can also try out the water toys.
A Seabob (underwater sled), stand-up paddle boards (SUPs), and floating mats. There’s snorkeling gear too. And at the stern, a hydraulic swim platform provides easy access into and out of the sea.
