The 7th Mediterranean Yacht Show took place in Naphlion, Greece, from April 30th to May 4th, 2022. This is the world’s largest yacht charter show, welcoming nearly 90 crewed yachts and more than 610 professionals from 30 countries this year.
Following a two-year absence due to the pandemic, the show returned to the port of Nafplion. Yacht brokers and industry professionals from around the world had the opportunity to see the yachts available for charter up close. MEDYS Culinary Competition Winners
This year’s MEDYS saw the return of the renowned Chefs’ Competition. There was an excellent turnout of participating Chefs, with the competition proving to be as popular as ever. The Chefs made “Decadent Vegan” dishes highlighting just how indulgent and versatile Greek vegan food can be. Fine cuisine is essential on a Greek Charter. One of the yachts bringing their land expertise to the sea in Milos-At-Sea.
Category A Platinum Winners
Category A Platinum of the competition included the Chefs working on yachts with a high season daily charter rate of 9.000+ euros. They certainly did not disappoint, putting imaginative twists on classic dishes and creating unparalleled vegan offerings. Their inventiveness and the use of advanced culinary techniques had their dishes exceeding all expectations.
Category A Platinum winners are:
- 1st place Chef Savvas Lichanidis from S/C GENNY
- 2nd place Chef Mihalis Tsourvas from M/Y SOLE DI MARE
- 3rd place Chef Josue Elizario from M/Y FUNKY CHOICE
Category A Winners
In Category A, the chefs work on yachts with daily rates of up to 8,999 euros for high-season charters. Chefs presented incredibly creative gourmet dishes demonstrating how traditional recipes could be reinterpreted as vegan and displayed their superior culinary skills. After a lot of tough deliberation, a top three was agreed upon.
Category A winners are:
- 1st place Chef Michal Maymon from S/Y AFAET. S/Y Afaet is in the Caribbean for charters during the winter 2022 season.
- 2nd place Chef Emmanouil Perros from M/Y ZEN
- 3rd place Chef Emilia Sotiriou from P/C CHRISTAL MIO
Tablescaping Winners
In addition to the chefs’ competition, there was also a Tablescaping competition. Once again, the designs were impeccable. Taking the win in Category A was P/C CHRISTAL MIO with stewardess Chrysa Kordatzaki, and in Category A, Platinum was M/Y IDYLLIC with stewardess Natasa Poumelioti.
